Overview

Located in the heart of Chino Hills, Dago Bento House offers a vibrant taste of authentic Taiwanese cuisine that stands out in Southern California’s diverse food scene. This restaurant, now settled at 2581 Chino Hills Pkwy E, has quickly become a go-to spot for those craving comforting, traditional flavors paired with thoughtful, modern touches.

What truly defines the Dago Bento experience is its approach to freshness and authenticity. Their menu boasts an array of classic Taiwanese dishes, with standout options like the hearty Taiwanese beef noodle soup and an exceptionally authentic oyster pancake that seafood lovers will appreciate. The kitchen is open to diners, fostering transparency while emphasizing cleanliness and quality — a detail that not only speaks to the owners' pride in their craft but also creates an intimate, engaging dining atmosphere.

Beyond the main offerings, Dago Bento House elevates the meal with a semi-buffet that includes unlimited soups, Taiwanese desserts, and a variety of flavorful drinks. Signature items like their brown sugar ginger tea and plum lemonade serve as perfect seasonal comforts, while boba milk tea with its perfectly chewy pearls provides that beloved Taiwanese staple. The generous dessert portions, such as grass jelly red bean pudding, invite sharing, making this space ideal for family gatherings or casual outings with friends.

The restaurant’s layout is intentionally cozy, designed to enhance the dining experience by allowing patrons to connect with the chefs and observe the meal preparation. This creates a welcoming environment for anyone seeking a genuine taste of Taiwan outside of the island. The attentive and respectful service, highlighted by thoughtful gestures—like accommodating families and packing take-home soup—adds to the overall warm and polished atmosphere.

Dago Bento House appeals to a diverse crowd: from local food enthusiasts and families to travelers and those familiar with Taiwanese cuisine looking for an authentic fix. Its move from the Costco plaza location to the new, thoughtfully curated space has only elevated its reputation, bolstered by positive reviews that praise not only the rich flavors but also the friendly, efficient service.

With convenient location and compelling offerings, Dago Bento House stands as a beacon of Taiwanese culinary tradition in California. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick, satisfying lunch or settling in for a leisurely meal enriched by the semi-buffet extras, it’s a destination that promises genuine flavors and a memorable dining experience.

East LA friends !you’ve probably been to the famous Dago Bento in Chino Hills, but they recently moved, and the new location comes with a semi-buffet . Once you order your entrée, you get unlimited soup, Taiwanese desserts, and drinks. At the buffet bar, the brown sugar ginger tea is perfect for winter, and the plum lemonade is a classic Taiwanese flavor. Of course, I grabbed a classic boba milk tea not too sweet with super chewy boba. For food, the Taiwanese beef noodle soup is a must. Seafood lovers shouldn’t miss the oyster pancake and the new fried squid honestly the most authentic oyster pancake I’ve had since visiting Taiwan. And dessert? Their grass jelly red bean pudding is huge and totally shareable between 3–4 people. They also offer gift cards with 10–15% off now until the end of the year, which you can also add to Apple Wallet. So it won’t go missing. Right! you’re basically paying around $12–$13 for a meal plus semi-buffet !! Always providing great service and the food, oh my, the best in town. We are so lucky to have them in chino hills. They used to be located by the Costco plaza but moved recently. Highly recommended. I personally like their rice dishes and drinks.

The food here is truly authentic Taiwanese cuisine, and the décor is beautiful. The restaurant doesn’t have many seats, so I asked the server why. They explained that the owner wanted customers to be able to see the open kitchen, ensuring the cleanliness of the food. The server even helped us pack some complimentary soup to take home. When my child spoke, the server crouched down to listen such a respectful gesture. Despite the place being incredibly busy, I saw several staff members constantly rushing around, yet they remained professional, courteous, and very polite in their conversations.
